key turns and nothing?

Any ideas, I've got a 99 TD5 which has been pretty faultless but this last week when you turn the key just "click" like the batts dead, but do it two or three times and "voroom". getting a bit miffed now as it took six goes earlier.

turns out it was a bit of corrosion on the starter motor connections. hopefully now sorted. game on.
