hi folks,
i`m new to the disc world, but i`ve moved up from the vauxhall frontera to the disco today.

i`ve bought a 2.5tdi xs 98 model.wow what a different vehicle to drive, certainly more stable on the roads than the fronty ever was,but my problem started with the rain?

i noticed water dripping onto the back seats via the sunroof thats above the rear seats & leaving an obvious water mark on the roof trim.

i`ve not had a chance to check it out probally due to the lack of day light, but does ne1 know of anything i should be looking for?.

any feedback appreciated :)

Welcome to the forum!
The gutter around the sunroof can get blocked with debris, it doesn't happen very often but it can occur, eg, if the vehicle has been parked under trees or bushes with fine leaves. Open the sunroof, get up on a ladder and check that the drain holes in the corner of the gutter and not blocked. If they are just poke them clear and then gently flush with some water to make sure that it runs clear and doesn't leak. If the holes are clear and it still leaks, then you will find that the gutter may have dropped in one of the corners and will need to be put back in place.
Let's know how you make out.

Even if the drains are clear, it's common for the drain tubes to come detached from the frame. If this happens, all the water that comes through the holes in the frame comes in contact with the headliner. You can pull the headliner down slightly around the sunroof and look and see if you see a clear tube running away from the sunroof frame. There should be one on both front corners of the sunroof frame. Make sure they are attached and not just lying there. Sometimes people will try to clear the drains with compressed air and blow the tubes off the mounts. Also the plastic mountings for the drain tubes crack near where they are attached to the frame and leak. This can be fixed with a big glob of waterproof silicone sealant. Not sure what you would call it over there.

Hope this helps and Welcome!
