leaky sunroof

i had an idea on my sun roof,i thought i could place clear sealent in the glass seating track.puy vasiline on the glass ,improve the seal ,and still have the sun roof work.has any body else tried this.i would like to know if it will work before i gom it up

I had the same problem and fixed it at no cost. I took the roof lining out completly bit of a pain but all quite easy. 3 of the drain pipes had broke so i removed the tray i did this by taking out the screws about 15. 3 in the motor and the rest in the tray you can not by the plastic inserts so you will have to try and repaire them. I pushed out the sunroof and cleaned all the old seal off. Also clean the roof were the roof will sit put a line of silicone on the sunroof and place back screw tray back on and wipe of any access silicone from the roof. Put some gentle heat onto the pipes before trying to put them back on it makes it easy. I hope it works it did for mine.
