I have a couple of questions related to the iphone and 2006 LR3. I have the audio connectivity kit that always for ipods to connect through the radio but it will not charge the iphone because the 3g and above are 5V and it is 3 or 2.5v. I read earlier that you can buy a new cable which is 5v and it will then charge the iphone. You still have to connect it using bluetooth but you can charge and see music in radio headset.

I can't remember if I saw it on this forum or on the UK one. Does anyone know of this and have the part number or know where I can get it?

Second question is about the bluetooth. I wrote earlier about my new 3gs not auto pairing and asking for the PIN twice before it connects. Does this everytime. I have reset phone and removed pairing but no luck. my 3g had no problem.

I also was looking through the forums and some people said that you can get address book to transfer. I never could. If someone has please let me know how you did it.

Last, anyone ever tired to upgrade the bluetooth? Sounds like it is a module that connects to the radio. Thinking the 2009 LR3 had the same basic radio and I could replace the bluetooth with a better one.

Thoughts?

Chauez,

I picked up the Iphone 3Gs a couple months ago, I purchased a charger for the 12 volt next to the ash tray and run the music through the AUX in the center console-I am interested in an option that adds direct connectivity to the head unit....have not given it much search time yet, The issue your having with pairing may be unique.

Did you search apple support-they have a bit of info there, on thistopic, as well.

I had zero issues with the phone pairing, Address book, memory, etc. Simply pair and go,,,my previous phone from T Mobile had similar issues to yours

The issue I have is the quality of sound other persons get when talking to me through the LR3's mic. My wife and friends complain of an echo and that they hear themselves constantly. It only happens in the LR3-and Im not the only one who has this issue-keep the volume lower and this tends to alleviate the issue

Good luck sorting the issue-didn't mean to jack your thread complaining about my issues....but once you get yours connecteds you may still experience some issues.

Rix92x,

Don't know if this helps but I used to have an Infiniti G, and the cable that came with the car also was 12v instead of 5v, (apple changed to USB charging from FIREWIRE) there is an adapter I bought for it made by Scosche worked like a charm. The issue I had was that the ipod nano 4th gen would not charge and would tell me on the screen "Accesory not Supported". If the connector on the car integration kit is the bottom ipod connector style it should work. The website is http://scosche.com/products/productID/1667 they also have an adapter for the Bose dock speakers so you don't have to throw yours away eveytime apple changes their mind...!!

They have great customer support, the one I bought from apple was defective, I could hear a high pitched noise when the ipod was connected, they sent me a new one and didn't even want the old one back.

Sosche

No prob... the Sosche products work very well for most applications-used the 12 - 5 converter in a previous Mini works like a champ.
