LR3/Discovery 3 Fuel Grade Requirement

In the US we had both choices Jag 4.4 V8 (is Ford made) or the Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 both petrol. (V6 cheaper version base model LR3) From 2005-2007.
I have the Jag 4.4 V8 it was a personal choice.

I have a 06' LR3 and the V8 with over 150K miles and have noticed a dramatic decrease in power when using 87 octane. But when running 87 the fuel injectors gummed up and had to be cleaned almost overnight. Based on my experience it's the ethanol in the US gas that tends to cause this. I run 90 octane non ethanol when I can and see no difference in performance. With E10 and E15 fuels I always use 93 octane. The extra money spent on fuel balances out with the money spent on fuel injector cleaning.
