I have been quoted for 4 new tires, all new rotors, and all new pads. This is crazy and no work is covered under warranty. All 4 tires are worn to tread on inside tire. I tried dealing with LRNA but they said this was normal wear. BS.

Landrover Westchester and Willow Grove in PA have been far from helpful. Time to get rid of this thing considering it is costing me $140/month in maintenance since I bought it new.

Any suggestions?

Not to be smart, but the suggestion is to forget your dealer. Also, these are all wear items and the truck weighs over 2.6 tons unloaded!

Tires you can buy elsewhere - and not the Goodyears!! Search here, but there are myriad suggestions for SE and HSE tires for less cost and better performance. The car will ride and sound like new again.

Brakes are also simple. Rotors usually last more than one pad change per experts here. A dealer will almost always cite some book and say new rotors with new pads. I can send you some specs, but pads all around are just a few hundreds and double that for new rotors, too. PM me your email for specs and details, or just email if you like.

I was lucky and squeezed 40k miles out of my original tires. The inside of both front tires were bald. I replaced them with Pirellis, through a discount retailer. The dealer wanted $300 more for the same tires.

I feel your pain. Tires shouldn't wear that quickly. My dealer had his script ready. Heavy vehicle, wider tire, softer tire material, etc. Why didn't they tell me when I bought the car? Clearly their focus groups told them fifty percent of customers wouldn't buy the vehicle.

I am very skeptical about your pads and rotors. Pads should only cost $100 to $200, and shouldn't wear out after 20k miles. None the less, to be safe, unless you know a mechanic that can be trusted I might spring for new pads.

Rotors at 23k miles? I can't believe it. Unless you commute in stop and go traffic, for an hour each way, I wouldn't trust the dealer.

No one is buying cars. Dealers are desperate for revenue. I wouldn't trust this one. Replace the tires, and replace the pads.

Agreed...don't throw the baby out with the bath water. The LR3 is a gem, it just needs a little massaging early on. The GY tires are crap; I've been running Michelin Synchrones and love them. I used Command Shift a lot and stay off the brakes and I just replaced the rear pads (fronts are okay) at 52,500 miles. Rotors were okay. Your dealer sucks.

I hope this is helpful.

This is both dealers telling me the same thing. I took it one place then to the other because they were giving me bad service.

Brakes 'n Rotors: $1000
New Tires: $1000
Alignment: $150

Yeah....$2150. You can shave some of that off by finding tires from Craigs List perhaps....I did, but I was damn lucky. The brakes you could probably do somewhere other than the dealer...and get a 3rd opinion on the rotors because your miles are awfully low. After that investment, you should be trouble free.

Do you go offroad or plan to?

West Chester is way better than Willow Grove. They helped me at 15K when the rear tires were shot. Im at 23K now and have replaced the tires with silent armor's that only cost me $700 installed. Im about to get rid of my squeaky brakes and get EBC pads and new wear sensors. Im doing the work myself so the pad's and sensors are under $300. This is far from high pricing considering some vehicles. If you talk nice with West Chester, they will go the extra mile. I am walking proof of that. Good luck.

I have an 06 HSE with 12,100 mi. on it and it looks to me I only have about 1/2 pads left, these are heavy trucks so that may be some of it. As for tires I opted to put 18" wheels fitted with BFG All Terrains 255-65-18 (tires ran approx. $250.00 ea.) They rub ever so slightly in extreme wheel turn and full stuff of the suspension, but the off-road capability was worth it to me. Also I did not notice any power loss due to the larger dia. tire size

Good choice, on everything....

I've had good experience with LR West Chester service, although they are very pricey with brakes/rotors.

As others have mentioned, you are at the limit of the Goodyears. I was able to get closer to 30K mi with regular rotations (every 5K). Tip - never buy new tires from the dealership, they are way overpriced. You can use tirerack.com and a local shop can install them (recommend CJ Tire if you have one nearby).

23K is earlier than most have reported for needing rotors. Our LR3 brakes were done at approx 37K mi. Did they provide you with the actual measurements? Perhaps it just needs pads and they are tacking on the rotors. You may also want to consider Land Rover Mainline (midway between Willow Grove and West Chester). But don't expect any of them to cover brakes at 23K under warranty.
