cdodkin,

That is fabulous. I'm using Zymol Leather Conditioner, and do the same thing to the LR3 and FFRR about twice a year; however, I spread about 5 thin layers about a half an hour apart on a day over 90 degrees farenheit. The Zymol does not seem as thick as the Connolly. The FFRR has the Ivory leather, so I'm always looking for the best in protection. Additionally, about once a month I will go over with a damp cloth and follow with Griot's leather spray.

I much prefer the LR3's leather to the FFRR, though my wife completely disagrees - of course. Like Rhino-hide to veal-calf.

I use the Zaino leather cleaner and then the conditioner. It really smells GREAT! I have the tan leather and it will start getting a blue hue from all of the denim dye in blue jeans. I just wipe easily with the cleaner and it comes off completely. I assume that if I didn't keep it conditioned it may stain the light colored leather.

Had the same issue with my D2 - it has the light leather, and gets a blue shade from jeans.

The Connolly cleaner and hide food gets it clean - and you're right, keeping the leather well conditioned does help repel staining/dirt.

The Griot's Leather spray has cleaning agents, so I use it in between the "once every six months all day treatments". My wife has the ivory Windsor leather, which stains very easily. The Leather Spray will get the blue jean stains out. (vacuum, wet cloth, Leather Spray).

I also use Griot's Leather conditioner on the LR3, and it works better for the one time thick application. The Zymol does better with soft leather and multiple applications.
