I have a 2006 LR3 SE V8, I want to tow a ultra lite travel trailer, Dry tongue weight of 375and a gvwr trailer weght of 5975 pounds. I'm using the Rover factory hitch. The trailer is 22 feet long. Does anyone have any experience with this? I plan on adding a brake controller and a anti-sway bar. The trailer specs can be found at the link below. its a X-210-WBS. We really need help with this question. Thanks

I tow an Airstream the weighs about the same, 19' long, but has a higher hitch weight. I use the Prodigy brake controller, no sway bar. I really like the Prodigy controller, if you don't already have one, you'll need a brake harness- the Frod F-150 harness is an exact fit. The staff at the Camping World where I bought it insisted that nothing fit the Land Rover. I listened to their lecture, but knew they were wrong. You will need to remove the trim cover under the drivers side dash. The plug in is almost where the brake pedal meets the firewall. I had a hard time finding it. I'm not an expert on the physics of towing, but I think since the truck is so heavy it feels very stable with no sway, then again, my trailer is only 19'. With a trailer well under the maximums, you shouldnt have any problem at all.

By the way, what prodigy controller did you use? I see a "prodigy RF" is that the one?

I believe there are also a few posts around indicating that you are NOT supposed to use an anti-sway with the LR3 - it apparently interferes with the truck's built-in software that is supposed to accomplish the same thing.

Towing a travel trailer with a 2006 LR3 SE

I have just read several issues in the owners mauaul on these concerns, From everything I;m reading It looks like I will be ok with this trailer, but it appears that I'm at I'm at the limit. I will not use the sway bar. I wonder if anyone else has any experience in this. Thanks for the response on this issue as we are trying to make up our minds on the purchase of this travel trailer.

I'm not sure about sway bars, but I understand that LR does not recommend using weight distributing hitches. With a 375 pound tongue weight, and gross weight well below max, you shouldn't need one.
