Alright....I'll be the schmuck....

You would need to give more information then that if you want someone to answer your question.

What year is the disco?
How many miles?
Are there any other problems that might be related?
What does your tach say your engine is doing RPM-wise at these speeds?
How does your 4 low and diff lock work, or not at all?
Any leaks? What color is the fluid?

it is a 2001 and has 58000 miles 4 low works fine , when going around 65 mph if you floor it ,like passing someone the rpm will run around 5 or 6 and then if you let off the gas and then give more gas it will drop the rpms to 3 but the speed will not go over around 75, i also have small antifreeze leak but mechanic says cant find where it is leaking from

I would venture to guess, that your 3-4 shift valve is hosed.
Unless you are a tranny man, I would take it to a reputable mechanic....not the guy that can't find the coolant leak.

Try your nearest LR dealer. Usually, they charge an hour labor to diag any problem, and if you get it fixed there, they credit that hour of diag toward the work.

I have a dealer near me, and I know from experience, that if you go there late afternoon, just before closing, you'll find them moping around. Most of these guys are quite experienced, and have seen most problems before.
Try to "borrow" one for a sec, and get an opinion. Talk one into taking a quick ride. I have had several problems diagnosed this way, and lots of other things I thought could become problems explained away......at any rate, you'll be networking with people that know a load about 'Rovers, and that's always a good thing.
