Map Lights?

Hi everyone,
Just purchased a 2012 HSE LUX (vision assist) Indus Silver, black interior.
This is my second rover, i had a 2003 disco that i sold a fews years back.

Has anyone tried to replace the map lights with LED's??

I didn't replace them in my LR4, but I have in my other vehicles. I can tell you the lights in the LR4 were not very well designed. My wife likes to read and the light given off from the map light was so bright, it wouldn't let the auto hi-beams cycle normally.

Also, the light was not directed very well. I always got so much light in my face at night I ended up buying a personal light that ran on batteries so she could read at night when traveling. Many of our other cars had better light control so that it would not interfere with my night time vision.

Make sure you get the right color LEDs for the interior. Warm tint LEDs will be better in the LR4. The fade that is normal when the lights go out will not be there after the LEDs are in place. They will cut of abruptly versus the incandecent lights in there now.
