Just a quick pole. We discussed this way back when it started to get cold. My 4.4 V8 was pulling a pathetic 13-14 mpg's in the summer and now down to a solid 10.5-11.5 mpg's all winter (im at 22,000 miles). i live on the east coast in PA and do a mixed highway/town driving. more so in town. I tried going a little lower in octane with no difference in mileage, just some possible detonation (or so my paranoid mind thought). What is everyone else at? im gonna bring it up when i go in for service in a week or so..

I live in upstate NY. I got 14.5 MPG in winter, mixed highway (80%) and in town (20%). In summer, I usually got 18 MPG. I had once travel over 250 miles highway, I got over 20. Mine have about 12000 miles.

We average around 14.5mpg during the winter with mostly city driving. During the summer we'll get around 16. When going back and forth to Breckenridge (about 200 miles roundtrip) we'll normally get around 19 regardless of the time of year.

BTW - we don't drive in sport mode (many people on here say they do). We run our tire pressures pretty high (38F/42R). And we aren't heavy footed. I also believe the altitude actually helps with gas mileage - less oxygen requires less fuel.

Your mileage sounds low. Running lower octane gas can contribute to that. Also, suggest you check tire pressure.

We live in the same area, and I get closer to 14 with mostly town driving.

I'm always dissappointed to see my average at 13-14 when I don't touch the computer for a while and it is mostly in town driving. (45 mph, lights, a few highway jaunts).

Highway I reliably get around 20 mpg. However, as mentioned in another post I was seeing 17ish this year and don't know why. On a recent trip, it was back up in the 19s.

Something is wrong - are you towing a 6000lb trailer constantly? Check your air pressure, air filter, maybe time for a tuneup, etc. That is too far off to just be heavy footed.

Good luck.
