Looks like in the 275/65R18 size there are three options:

1. Goodyear MT/Rs.
2. Cooper Discoverer STTs.
3. Hankook DynaPro MT RT03

I'm thinking that these are listed in order of Best, Better, Good. The Coopers seem pretty durable and I'm pretty sure the Goodyears would be....but the price for 4 tires is about $250 apart. That's enough for a spare!

My Zeons have been pretty good...but my damn brother is doing pretty well with a set of Toyo Open Country MTs and now I want a more aggressive tire!

Anyone have some thoughts/experience on any of these three tires?

Thanks.

Sorry Duckdive--I didn't get the alert to this message posting.

Any increase in the outside rolling diameter will cause rubbing at full compression. Under normal driving conditions I don't believe you'll rub. You may feel that your car looks like a low-rider since the larger tires will be taking up more of the wheel well.

I just have to recommend the ride height increase with the software lift. It simply takes all of the "what if's" out of play.

Software lift?

How do you get this software lift? Is it something that the dealer will do? I would like my LR3 to sit higher in normal mode, I have the Goodyear MTR 255/55/19 and don't have any rubbing issues but I think the truck looks better higher.

Dealer won't do it for obvious liability issues. There are some Land Rover specific
shops that have the software to do so. They are just hard to find.

Is the software lift better/worse cheaper/more expensive than the suspension arm shortening that has been posted?

Adam Spiker from Offroving referred me to West Coast Rovers who said it would be around
$200 to do it with software. Not sure if one is better than the other. It sounds like
the software route is a little more permanant. I think the shortening of the arms
is easier to reverse if you want to go back to stock height and would just be the cost
of the height sensors.

I would go with the arms. You can get 2-3" with the arms and you can go back to stock.
with the software I think it is around 1" of lift

That's probably subjective. But they're at least on par with eachother.
