need help from Canada. just purchased a 1995 Landrover Disc. with a 3.9V8. I have spark and I have fuel. engine fails to start. keeps on flooding. engine sounds funny when turning over...like low compression. is there a common problem with these engines? Timing chain problems? Cam shaft problems? I'm a technician with Chrysler for 25 years, but not familiar with these trucks. Any help would be appreciated.

many thanks for your help, joey. bought this rover from someone. before this guy left on vacation, it was running fine. when he came back after three weeks, he couldn't start it. could be injectors, i'll check it out. i took plugs out, covered in fuel. cleaned everything. still won't start. it's got 180,000 kms on it. don't know service history. do they suffer from worn cam shafts or chains? would appreciate any advice. rest of the truck looks to be in great shape. very clean. just can't start the thing.

As I posted in the PM, it could be alot of things, but if the plugs are covered in fuel I would lean toward injectors.
