Hi: I am 6ft 7in and almost bought an LR3 this weekend, but found my right leg and the center console didn't get along too well. I tried moving the seat all around, the steering wheel up and down and in and out, but it seemed like I needed to be 2-4in further away to be confortable. Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to move/mount the seat more rearward? I want to move both the driver and passenger seats as my wife and I share the driving on long trips. Thanks for any help as I really want to get the LR3!

Seat Adjustment

Check with NWOODS who was able to make adjustment to his seat for the same reason. I drove his LR3 last weekend and it still adjusts for a small guy like me, but works great for his size. I think you can check some very early threads, say around April or May last year and his thread shows how he did it.

On another forum, he posted this link http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3917

Welcome to the crowd. I'm 6'4 and have the same damn problem with the console. It's slim pickings out there for comfortable rides for tall guys. A buddy of mine who's 6'8 drives a Porsche Cayenne, and he says it really comfortable for him.

If I ever wreck, my right knee is going to be trashed in the process, i fear.

I am also 6'-7".
There are two components to this issue. The SE7 and the HSE have better seats with more range of motion. I find that I can fit in the HSE, though long distance trips are a bit trying. The increase in motion is in the angle of the seat pan (front and rear) and not in length of travel. However, I own a base model, so it has a very limited range of seat motion.

So in the higher end models, if you can crank the seat back, lean the seat-pan back, then tilt the seat-back forward enough to compensate, you should be okay, for short durations anyway.

To get more travel, it's a simple mod. I can have them made for you if you wish, but I don't know what the fee would be without checking into it.

Here is what I did:
