Another LR4 showed up at my local LKQ so here was my adventure.
- Learned that silver air vent rings on dash just pull off and you can get to vanes behind. My girl connected her phone holder to one and proceeded to break several delicate parts. So I grabbed two rings and all the inside plastic bits
- Pulled ground cable between transfer case or tranny and body. Mine is almost gone
- Pulled left/right air intake covers in case I trash one of mine next time I clean drains
- Grabbed 2 MAF and MAP sensor. Not sure old ones are worth reusing if I ever need.
- Found a set of 4 brand new lug nuts in a box under the seat with a fifth being a "locking" lug.
Tossed the lock but 4 clean lugs is great
- Got good driver arm rest but after removing bolt under plastic cap, could not budge it. ChatGPT said it was splined on, but it was wrong. The shaft in the seat just had a pin and the armrest ring had a slot. You just need to rotate armrest to align the two and it slides off.
- But main purpose of trip was to disassemble a rear parking brake and see the setup hands on. Watched many videos and need to tackle mine to cleanup and adjust.
Wanted a rear area cover, but never are any and also wanted some ride height sensors, but ran out of energy
But fun day out of work
