Well, after all the dealer hassles we had (see previous posts under LR3 vs. GX), we ended up picking up our new LR3 from a great dealer in Colorado Springs. We put 500 miles on it this weekend and noticed a few issues, mostly minor. Has anyone else had these problems?
1 (and most concerning): while driving down one of the passes in Colorado, I moved the gear selector to sport in order to manually downshift. Nothing happend. The indicator on the dash stayed in 'D' and moving the lever up or down did nothing. Then, got an icon that said 'Transmission Fault'. Put it back in auto mode and worked fine, but icon stayed on. Pulled over, turned ignition to on (but didn't start it) let it set for 1 minute and fault icon went away. Stopped for lunch, started going again and the fault indicator stayed off. Tried the downshift again, didn't work but the fault indicator didn't come back on. Didn't try it again on the way home (fear of total breakdown in the mountains).
2) the male UK and male US voices have exactly the same accents
3) minor rattle.

Overall, this is an awesome vehicle. Got 19 mpg on the trip down (over 3 mtn passes).
Anyone else had the tranny issue?

No, you should get it checked out if it happens again. It will stay in D until you shift it up or down of course, but obviously there is no room for transmission faults going down passes.

I think the language deal is just so it best understands YOUR voice. I don't think it changes the recorded commands based on that setting.

You did the right thing with the restart to clear errors. I will occasionally get an error switching my transmission modes. It is usually if I put it into sport soon after I've come out of an offroad setting. It always goes away with a "restart" but is still annoying.

The weird annoyance I'll get, which is too rare to expect a dealer to reproduce, is with my Cruise Control. Sometimes my CC will not turn on when I hit the button, and other times the OFF button won't work! (but hitting the brakes will turn it off) Happens very infrequently, but its there...

The message indicator thingie in the speedo will display the tiny tiny tiny word "sport" next to (or above, I forget), the "D" for Drive when you move it to the left. It doesn't display an actual gear until you flip it up or down through the gears. The fact that it's not workign for you means that it's not working properly! Take it in.

Rattle? Seriously? I off road mine a lot and have no rattles. Go through the car and look for some lose bit of trim or whatever. I found a loose (extraneous?) screw rolling around in the steel cups the middle row seats rest on. You'll find it. Try looking in the rear cubby where the tire jack and/or hitch stuff is also.

the only rattle i've had yet was found to be the storage cover in it's stored position. Say Nwoods, how do you like that storage spot anyway?

I completely forgot to check. I went wheeling over the weekend, and I keep a full size spare ******* against the rear passenger side bulkhead in the back, and the cover thingie doesn't fit when I do that.

Yes, I can fit the spare under the car, but chances are, when I need it, that will be an inconvienent location to say the least.

I am doing a VERY agressive run (ie: I am actually quite nervous) this weekend the 11th also, so perhaps I'll try fitting it sometime next week after I recover from this run.
