hi, i just bought a 03 disco se about a week ago... when i first got it, the service engine light came on and i took it right back and it read out "cylinder one misfire" they told me to take it to their local shop.. in which they told me since it got detailed its probably water and drive it and if its still on by friday bring it back.. it turned off a few days later..

i was driving this morning to go get my tags and inspection and the flashing m+s mode lights came on, i stopped the car, turned it off and turned it back on and they went off..

also, i dont know if all discos are like this but i have a loud fluttering noise coming from the right side engine bay, sounded like a leak i had in my cat converter in my 04 silverado, but this is coming from near the engine... its pretty loud when i first start the car then quiets when it kicks into idle... but when i accel its it sounds loud...

just wanted to get some info and stuff before i dip deep into service, i move to colorado from dallas in a month, i want everything to be good before i move..

thanks.

Could be the exhaust manifold leaking?

Dealership and expensive are one word average $90 - $120 an hour for service work.

tune up should cost more than $500 - $1000 unless they find something else wrong.

You may also want to take it to a mechanic other than the dealer... who said the dealer is the only people qualified to work on a Rover....
