New Disco Owner!

I bought a 98 Disco last week and so far I'm loving it! 71k miles on it and most everything is in working order. I have the intermittent rear window issue that will require the soldering fix (some good documentation on this site) and it has a little rust in the door jambs that I will probably address next year.

I did notice something strange that may be normal but when I’m traveling at highway speeds (65-75 mph) and I push down the accelerator all the way to pass the transmission does not drop down a gear. It does drop if I’m at a lower gear and try to pass but not at the highest gear.

Nice looking Rover....

The kick down issue is somewhat normal... I lubed mine up and it works well for a month or so, then starts having issues again. Easiest way to fix this is just use the shifter to select 3rd gear. You do not have to press the button on the shifter, just pull back on it.
