so when I bring it to the dealer should I trust them to tell me why the engine light is coming on.
I guess I am just afraid I will get frustrated if they tell they fixed it and then the next day the engine light comes on again

Do you know all the scenarios that can cause the check engine light to come on? Does someone on this site have list of possible causes for check engine light to illuminate on LR3's?

Ha, that would be some list. The list is in the hundreds, it is not a handful of items. I believe on the GTR site they have all the possible error codes available in a spreadsheet format. There are many.

Honestly, I don't think you want that list. The quickest/easiest/cheapest is to go to an autoparts store and ask them to check your truck. I don't think anyone will charge you to run the scanner.
