Hi all, I'm considering an 08 LR3 HSE model, but, I have not made it to the dealership yet. My first question is, can you roll all the windows down with the key fob similar to many other premium autos? My other question is how well does the auto climate control work? for instance does it blow at max speed for a long time or is it more subtle. I plan on going for a test drive as soon as some 08 HSE's make their way to the lots. The other vehicle I'm considering is the new x5 but its pricing would only leave me with the six cylinder compared to the fully loaded LR3. My thoughts about the six cylinder X5 was that it didn't have enough power to get out of the way of its own ass. Thanks for any responses the Land Rovers seem to be great vehicles. After viewing some videos on youtube I do believe the LR3 can go just about anywhere! :hello:

edit: Also, does anyone have any buying experience they can share at one of the Houston Land Rover dealers?

I found the auto climate control to work well. This is my third vehicle with that type of system with a Mercedes and Volvo as the first 2. The Volvo seemed to be the best, but the LR3 is right behind it (Ford?) and both of those were not as loud as the Mercedes. Just experiment with the best temp setting for your comfort and noise level. (I find 74 to be the best) The X5 is a great road only vehicle with horrible 3rd row seats. If you are going offroad at all, I would consider something else for comparison. (Dirt road isn't "offroad" in my book) The LR3 has real 3rd row seats and great interior cargo room. Also, I think you will be surprised with the handling on and off road.

I bought mine from Land Rover Austin, so I am not sure if Houston has the same owners, but LR Austin is a great dealership and would recommend them if you wanted to do price negotiations.

Hope this info helps.

The '07 LR3 HSE doesn't have the auto down feature for windows (using the key fob). I wish it did! As for the climate control I think it works great - zero problems. I hope you decided to by an LR3. It is a great vehicle and like you say it is loaded!

the heated windshiled along with the defroating is one of the best i have ever had for winter. the operation of the climate is a breeze; the truck is so quiet that initially the venting may seem a bit noticeable, but use the fan speed and drop it if you want.
