Wrench showed up. (Service Required) Went into Service Menu. States Oil Overfill. Book then says Don’t Drive! I have been driving it. It’s almost time for another oil change… It’s my fault I haven’t gotten to know this vehicle (2016 RR HSE) Need info/advice!

Maybe simply change the oil now. Measure the volume of used oil you remove. Dry and inspect the used oil filter pleats closely. Refill the oil with the specified volume and check the digital oil gauge.

I recommend using an oil evacuator like the Mityvac or similar for an easy, relatively clean oil change.

where are you located? I don’t do my oil, and I thought where I was taking my Rover was a good place and it maybe is, but I feel like I should take this to another shop and have them change the oil and do those things that you recommended…ok to drive? I’ve driven almost 5000 miles on it and I hope the engine isn’t damaged….

"Hope" is not a plan. Maybe consider taking it to a reputable shop. Willing to bet if you search the web [this site as well] you will find some decent Land Rover mechanics near you.

If your overfill alarm is going on and off, I would not worry about it.
Note that the electronic oil level does require the vehicle to be perfectly level.
I have found that even an inch of pitch from front to back can sometimes trigger the overfilled notice.

This is an easy and relatively mess free task.
30 minutes, maybe a few more for a first timer.

Use a MightyVac or equivalent to remove oil.
Change the filter.
Refill.

Ongoing items of discussion in this group:

What level on the gauge is actually full and correct.
My vehicles came from the factory with the oil level at the top of the gauge - so I use that.
Others have reported that they use the level at "half gauge".
What oil to use.
OI ! Let's not start that again !
I use OEM Rover Oil - it goes by the name of Unicorn Blood because it is sometimes just as rare.
But lately it's easier to source at any of the standard Rover online parts places.
Others use other oils.
But in the end what is most important is keeping the change interval to 5K miles.
