Pollution Sensor

Owners manual under Heating and Ventilation section states that LR4 may or may not have pollution sensor. RECIRCULATION WITH POLLUTION SENSOR is shown with picture of recirculation with AUTO printed on the bottom of the image.

Is it that North American, Canadian and US LR4s do not come with pollution sensors? Or is this an option which I missed. Could 2011 LR4 owners please confirm if they have pollution sensor installed in their LR4 or if they are aware if it is available as an option? Thanks for all your help, Victor

Victor this is the first time I heard of the pollution sensor. I would have thought it was standard. I have to talk to my service advisor on Monday, so I will ask him then.

Franky - thanks for replying back.

According to manual if the LR4 is equipped with Pollution sensor then under the recirculation image on the button AUTO will be printed, so if it does not have AUTO printed, according to the manual LR4 does not have pollution sensor

Today I called the service advisor at the dealership where I recently purchased my 2011 LR4 from and he did not have an answer for me, he said he is going to call the tech. people on the east coast. In the mean time, I am requesting 2011 LR4 owners if they can check to see if there LR4's Recirculation button has AUTO printed at the bottom of the image?

Hi,

I have a 2010 HSE Lux. I just went a looked at the button, mine is not marked with the auto feature. I looked it up in both my hard copy manual and the online manual and they both reference the auto/polution feature. So it doesn't seem that this is a 2011 specific issue. Here is a picture of mine:

So seems like Pollution Sensor is left out for Canadian and USA based LR4's. My canadian speced. LR4 is 2011 LR4 HSE with Lux package. One would wonder why they will leave this kind of feature out, when you spend this kind of money you would assume that you will get these kind of features standard. Anyways I am still waiting to hear from my Service advisor on this and see what they have to say about it. I will keep you all posted of my findings.

I am also wondering if RangeRover's also do not have pollution sensor...

I'm surprised that they would include it in both the 2010 and 2011 manuals for North America if it really isn't available. That's the kind of stuff that should have been eliminated so it doesn't creat calls. Thats the whole idea behind having a manual in the car, to educate people and cut down on both calls to corperate LR and the dealer. Look, this has already created at least one call and multiple follow ups.
