I am new to the world of LR's. I am in the process of purchasing my first LR4. I had been planning on the 2011 LR4. While at the dealership, the dealer showed me 2010 LR4 hse lux plus, with climate, the cameras, etc. The LR4 was driven by the owner of the dealership and has 4000~ miles on it. They are offering me the regular warranty starting upon my purchase not subtracting the 400miles. Just wondering if anyone here had any idea of a fair price on the 2010 LR4 (i think the original sticker was 59/60). Or has there been enough improvements from the 2010 to the 2011 to just go for the new?

when we bought our LR4 HSE in Feb, we got a thousand or so off for the 700 miles on the clock, I have seen other users get at least $2000 off for about 1500 miles on the clock. I will leave it up to other more knowlegable commenters to say what they would pay.

Not sure where you are located, but I leased a 2010 LR4 for my wife back in July, and it had just been put into service as my dealer's service loaner. It had 700 miles on it, and most of the miles were put on my the Dealers manager as he was driving it daily. They let us take it for a couple of days, and when we returned it, it had 900 miles on it. It was an HSE LUX package, but had some extra's we were not interested in (Entertainment System), which brought it's pricing to just under $61k. It was Black / Black and not exactly what we were looking for. I negotiated a price discount of $3k off a new one (providing it was in stock at one of their two dealerships) and or the $3k off plus paying any shipping costs if they traded one from another dealer that better suited our desired configuration. After two days of searching, the dealer was coming up empty. On a whim, I asked, what's the best you could do if I took the service loaner, and he quickly said, $4800 off! Needless to say, we jumped on it and took delivery two days later. He told me that they are allowed to sell the service loaners at Invoice, plus additional discounts as necessary as they get "kick backs" from LR for selling and supporting a service fleet. In the end, what we gave up was just the color we wanted (white instead of the higher cost black) and got the video system for essentially free. The vehicle has been flawless, and I'm soooooo glad we got the black as it really looks awesome! It was my wife that wanted the white, but now she agrees that the Black is sweet! Good luck to you, and I'd suggest doing a bit more negotiating as the dealers will definitely "talk turkey" with you on any instock or service loaner vehicles they have.

Oh, I'm in WI in case you were wondering. We have three dealers here, and there's a ton of them in Chicago. Maybe that might make a difference seeing us consumers have a fair amount of "choice" in where we buy.

cheers,

Joe

So I have a pending deal with my local Land Rover for a 2010 HSE LUX with 11,000 miles that they have used as a loaner. I'm getting it for $48,000 and asked them to replace the brakes and do the oil change if it has not been done and rotating tires.

Anyone have any opinions on whether this is a bad deal?

Thanks!

Sounds like a good deal to me. MSRP should be around $57K, right? That means you're netting a $9k discount. If you can get them to do all the things you listed, I think you'll be in good shape!

Good luck,

Good luck,

I just bought it today. They did replace the break pads and gave me the old ones as those still had half the life on them. The sub on the passenger front side seems to be rattling some plastic. Also, when I was leaving, the car stated that my gas level was low even though it was refilled. The sales guy is coming to my work and picking up my rover next tuesday to check it out as he saying there was a update that my LR4 still needs.

I'm ok with these little gremlins if the dealer keeps being this receptive to fix my issues.

Anyway, thanks Joe for your input.

I just purchased a 2010 LR4 HSE Izmar Blue for 51K, 22 miles on the clock (heated seats, voice, parking sensors etc. etc. was standard.) Sticker was 54K. I purchased the 2010 over the 2011 HSE (w/heated seats etc. option) because of the color. Their choices were black, bronze, white and sand... and I didn't want to special order, it takes forever. I love the Izmar Blue, very beautiful, and the price was a no brainer. The only thing I don't get is the LED signature lighting, which although I wanted, I can live without. My wife thinks the LEDs look cheesy and said a Land Rover shouldn't have such a fancy thing as the LR is a statement in its own... (but I disagree.) I didn't want to lux because the seats are too damned nice, too smooth, I have a 18-month old son and I want to have fun in my LR, not worry about keeping the seats looking beautiful. I love the standard HSE seats, the texture tough look IMO matches the Land Rover's utilitarian statement.
