Question -- New Disco Owner

im new in the forum
i just bougth a disco 2 01
i got it salvage.
i can star it fine it runs but when i try to shiff to r ot d the little lock dont let go the handle when i depress the brake peddle the warning ligth of the differential lock come on . what i done .get a manual and readingfind out that there is a lock by the diferential and i muve it but i have no luck with the problem. now im comfice where the lock needs to be rigth in the center or to the rigth where the transs is or to the lefth where the passenger is. any help will be glad. thank in advence.

For normal driving conditions you want the center differential lock lever in the far "back," far right position. The CDL light should not be illuminated.

Almost sounds as if the brake pedal switch is bad or disconnected. Its weird though b/c the cdl light is on. I thought that the light won't come on without cdl shifter in a DII.
