Thanks for the response...
When I connect the two wiring harness adapters that came with the Kenwood I get sound to all the speakers and I assume they are being powered by the Kenwood?....I wanted to know what the two connectors that look like RCA but are not, do. Do they just turn the sub and main amp on and off?...the left and right speaker data is sent through the harnesses...should I be losing the amps or do the wiring harness speaker assignments actually go through the amps as well?...if that's the case I'm even more confused as to what those two faux RCA connectors do and what, if anything, I should do with them.
And I still don't know how to connect the antenna...
thanks again for humoring my confusion!
Hi,
I think i can help you but will need clarification on some things you mentioned.
1. did you have these same issues with the Pioneer?
I find it strange that ditching the Pioneer for Kenwood would cause your sub to die and not be able to connect the antenna. The antenna may require and adapter like this:

2. When mentioning subwoofer, are you referring to the factory sub in the tail door or an aftermarket subwoofer? If you have a sub there has to be an amp (factory or aftermarket)
3. if your vehicle has an amp the aftermarket radio will supply audio and remote turn on signal (usually a blue wire) to it. Some radios will also have separate RCA's for subwoofer. If you don't have an amp the aftermarket radio powers the speakers directly.
clarify the above and provide a picture of the "faux RCA" connectors.
