Replacement outer tie rod end not fitting.

My mechanic is having trouble locating a tie rod end for my 06 Sport HSE. The worn out one has a longer stud and different size sleeve than the replacements he's found (including the factory part ordered from the VIN). Canadian car.
Any thoughts would be appreciated as we're a bit stumped here. Thanks

Here are some things to consider: 1) wrong part may have been shipped (it happens), 2) tie rod end being replaced may not be OEM 3) Knuckle may not be the original (least likely). Try Roversnorth.com, roverparts.com (Atlantic British) and if all else fails, ebay usually does the trick.
