Adding my two cents on this topic. I just had my LCA’s replaced on my 2012 LR4. March 2025. I paid $1270.00. Replacing lower control arms is pretty straightforward and any competent mechanic would be able to do it. I would not worry too much about it.

I had a shudder last January. The dealer just replaced the bushings (LR055291). Am I ok or should they have replaced the whole control arm?

as long as the arms were not rusted or cracked replacement of bushings is ok. most mechanics replace the arms as it is much easier and less time consuming to do; however, the newest lr4s are now 9 years old so the arms are at risk for rust, cracking, metal fatigue etc.
