This is the old control arm. It appears someone replaced only one bushing. I had to cut the other bolt to get the other side out.

Both sides were done this way. I'm curious to understand why they would have done only one bushing.

Anyone have an idea of why someone would do this?

I installed these with OEM control arms. Just have to get the wheel alignment done.

Cheapo’s replaced the one that was worn?? And got a better price in the poly bush??

Nonetheless, with one bushing poly, and the other not, is a weird setup.

Mine had been done that way when I bought it, I ended up taking it to a shop to do poly in the front bushings too. Didn't like the harshness of the ride and have since gone back to oem.

The Lemforder brand is where the value and reliability is at for the LCA's. Its still early stages for me though I've only driven 26k mi on them. I do hear a slight deep inner-core clack pulling out of a parking space and I'm beginning to wonder if that slight noise is from the left LCA. At 97k they were toast, metal clacking loud enough to annoy innocent bystandards so maybe 80k miles? How long do LCA's last?

Maybe he was cheap and/or had access to a floor press. Replacing a single bushing vs. buying a whole new control arm is a repair where the money saved isn't worth the extra time involved in pressing out/in the old/new bushings. Especially if you live in the rust belt.

Just had the wheel alignment done and the ride is So Much better! The harsh ride over road imperfections and holes is gone. It now rides like a new truck. Well worth the effort to replace the lower control arms with OEM parts.
