I need to replace my catalytic converter. I found one on roverlandparts.com (opinions?) for a great price. Looking at the picture it appears to be bolt on. Can anyone give me advice on replacing this myself. I apologize if this has been answered before in these forums. I searched but could not find the specific instructions I'm looking for. If it has and you can link the original post that'd be great. I'm handy with a socket set, but am by no means an auto mechanic so lamen's terms will be appreciated. Thanks for any and all help/information!

The Cat has to be welded in place or it may suck air causing it to go bad again in minutes.

Not sure on the cat at roverlandparts as I haven't had to shop for a cat in a while... but basically I look at it like this... either buy a new complete "Y" pipe with both cats or go with a $40 aftermarker one...

Thank you for the reply, Joey. What I am considering purchasing from roverlandparts.com is the full Y pipe, which appears to bolt on. I should have been more specific. Do you think that is something someone with little auto mechanic knowledge could do? Can you tell me some more about the $40.00 aftermarket cat converters? The Y pipe is $475.00. If my problem can be resolved for 1/10th the price I'm certainly interested.

The one for $475 isnt a bad deal if you plan to do it yourself I would also look into used... give Nathan a call in my signature... he may even have one laying around for sale. There are also several other used rover people out on the net that could help out as well.
