Hello all!
I am not new to the forum (in fact read the new posts daily) but typically not very vocal.

I am looking for a full size spare tire for my 2007 LR3 SE V8. I upgraded the tires to a set of the Yokohama Geolander 275 60 18 (thanks to the info posted by nwoods) but have yet to upgrade/replace the spare. I have seen a number of owners offering to share in a set of 18" for anyone located on the West Coast (I am located on the East Coast in the Princeton, NJ area) but having shipped a set of Audi Allroad wheels and tires to Boulder once I know how expensive shipping wheels and tires can be. So what I am hoping to find out is:
Does anyone have an 18" LR3 wheel that they are willing to part with in the Princeton area?
Is there a Steel wheel out there that would fit the LR3?
Any other options?

Thanks

just google for lr3 used wheel or lr3 refurbished wheel. Several resellers will show up, with wheels in the 250-300 range. Shipping for one wheel, without tire shouldn't be too bad. The only caveat is I haven't used any of these places, so I can't recommend one in particular.

The other alternative is to get a rebourne wheel. From discount tire direct they are under 300 per 18" wheel. I'm not sure they are exactly the same as OEM in offset though.

As far as I know there are no steel 18" wheels for the LR3. I wish there were.

Keep an eye on ebay. I picked up a spare 18" lr3 wheel with tpms for about $125.

In case you haven't tired yet, a fully inflated 275/60-18 will fit in the spare tire area if you trim the center of the plastic shield. At least mine did.

LR3 spare

I searched for a steel spare for months and found nothing. I finally bought a wheel that matched mine (already changed to 18" of course). I also installed the Rasta 4x4 rear wheel carrier which I like a lot.

I found a set of 4 wheels with tires here in Phoenix by searching on Craigslist.org. I paid $100 for all 4 of the wheels and kept 2. I just sold the other 2 for $100. They guy I bought them from had just bought a set of pull-offs from the dealer. They are out there I had to look for a month or so before I found mine.

I found this 18" 10-spoke LR3 wheel on another forum. Free. Just have to pick it up. Coordinates included in the ad.

I just put 285/60-18 Cooper Zeon LTZs on mine. In your opinion, could I get that to fit underneath fully inflated? Do you need to trip if you keep it deflated? Can you give any more detail on the trimming required? Thanks!

When I took off the OEM Good-for-a-Years I put the best of them on a used 18" wheel I got through my dealer and put it underneath to replace the skinny temp one. Fits fine and will get me home if needed.
