shifter linkage disconnected

the linkage between the transfer case and the second shift knob was somehow disconnected after some off roading. I could not shift between low range and high range b/c the shifter was disconnected. is this typical? I think it happened after i took it off a jump............got about a foot of air, i thought the landing was smooth didn't hear any unusual noises. The car was in low range, so i had to drive home at 30mph.

Two options for fix...

1. remove center console and fix issue.
2. still under warrenty have it towed to the dealer or drive if real close, and have them fix it free.

jumped an 05 LR3: no problems
jumped an 04 toyota land cruiser: no problems

all off the same jump off road

i'd like to add that i got it towed to the dealer and it was fixed under warrenty
