You'd save a lot of money sourcing the parts yourself, then taking it to a local mechanic who is willing to take the parts you bring in to do the work.
I had a very odd experience doing this. I sourced parts from AtlanticBritish and my indy was happy to install the LCAs for me. They even gave me an exact list of parts to purchase which AB helpfully confirmed.
However, when the parts arrived at the shop, the techs were not able to make them fit to their satisfaction. I had them sent back to AB and they sent me a replacement set at no charge. Same issue with this set! This second set also went back and to their everlasting credit, AB gave me a full refund. I felt badly about this situation because LCAs are heavy! AB lost money on the double return shipping.
I know the obvious thought is that the shop wanted me to get parts through them, which I ultimately did. However, I just don't believe I was scammed. I trust this shop w/o question and continue to use them.
Bottom line it was an odd experience. My main takeaway from it was a very good feeling about doing business with AtlanticBritish because of the way they handled the returns. That earned a lot of loyalty from me.
