Spare tire question

Hi everyone,

I looked around the forum for this question, but didn't find an answer. I recently bought an 06 LR3 SE, which came with new tires, but the spare has a leak. The size tire I'm running are the usual 255/60/18's. I found a used Michelin tire that's a 255/55/18. Will that work for my spare, or should I find the correct size. The tire's $50. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

The concern is the diameter, if it were me I'd find the correct size.

As long as it is the same overall diameter (and not a Michelin) (most use a 185/something/19 spare), it should be fine.
