Does anyone know if the RRS supercharger will work on the LR3? I found a 2006 RRS SC in working order and was curious if they are compatible?

Could be interesting, but the supercharged engine is a 4.2 with forged rods and pistons and a lower compression. I think the supercharger would bolt right up to the 4.4 since they are the same architecture, but not 100% sure. If they do fit up, you would have to run a larger pulley for less boost, I doubt the 4.4 with the high compression can handle the same amount as the 4.2. Even with all that, you would also have to reprogram the ecu (if thats possible) or use the ecu from the supercharged. Hell, it might be easier to just swap the whole engine + electrics, i'm pretty sure it would fit.

Also, would the tranny/xfer case/axles be up to the power gains?

Why? This isn't a performance rig.

Extra HP is usually a welcome feature! I agree that the LR3 is not aimed at winning street races, but an extra 75-100 would be nice (LR4). My guess is that the compression ratio would limit the amount of boost the engine could handle to the point that the addition of the supercharger would be pointless - lots of parasitic drag associated with running the supercharger.

What would happen to the fuel economy then? Ha... I couldn't imagine getting anything worse than what I get now.

You'd have to do the "replace back seat with a fuel cell" mod :)
