Hi All,
I have a 2016 Range Rover SVR, the car is black as are the road wheels.

It is currently in for repair following it being stolen, one of the things it needs a new wheel. The repair centre my insurance company appointed contacted me today and said they cannot obtain a new wheel in black, only in silver
This sounds very suspect to me as one of the wheels is only a year old, and they were available then. The repair centre want to paint the wheel, and the other 3 black to match.

I am pretty sure the wheels are powder coated, not painted, can anyone confirm the original finish please?

Thanks

What you first might try is to determine what wheel it is that you have on your 2016 FFRR.

The jpg's below are for FFRR wheels but of a 20" size etc but you are looking for numbers similar on the inside of the spokes.

These pictures are from the inside of 8.5Jx 20EH2 wheels with a IS 47mm inset.

You probably have 22 or 23 inch wheels. As to the coating, I do not know what Land Rovers manufacturers use but it is probably not powder coat.

This link might provide the Land Rover wheel model numbers - might show 2016 as well.

Thanks for your reply, everything is on hold now, car is still in the repair centre. Due to the Cyber attack they cannot get any parts for it.

The original wheels on a 2016 Range Rover SVR are typically powder coated, not painted. Powder coating provides a more durable and uniform finish compared to standard paint, which is why matching a new wheel by just painting it might not give a perfect result. If your repair center can’t source a black wheel, powder coating a new silver wheel is technically possible, but it needs to be done professionally to match the original finish. Some owners also look for OEM replacement wheels through specialty suppliers or forums to avoid repainting or powder coating.
