I have had my 2016 LR4 for a few years now. Clarkson (that's his name) has been pretty cantankerous on all 5 of the longer trips we have taken. Something has come up every time, often in the form of a DTC related to lean bank 1, or misfiring on a cylinder, or more recently to a post-cat bank 1 O2 sensor.

The misfire was repaired by a plug coil. The rest of it seemed a puzzle to me until the O2 sensor code became consistent, so I replaced that.

This past week, my wife and I took Clarkson down to central and eastern Oregon, including going to some really remote and fairly difficult roads in the Owyhee wilderness and canyon (spectacular!), and some remote sections of the Blue Mountains. This was the first trip where the GAP tool never had to come out! We didn't want to talk about it for fear of jinxing our good fortune. Hopefully, we've managed to iron out the major issues with the engine at least.

Well, there was ONE issue that came up: on a paved section of forest road, I was doing about 45mph when I hit a pothole that was hidden by a tree's shadow. It was a VERY harsh pothole and the left side took a big hit. I didn't notice it then, but it was harsh enough that the lip on the left end of the Tactical 4x4 winch bumper bent out a bit (it's actually fairly thin and unsupported...I bent it back by hand), and popped several rivets for the wheel arch trim molding. I was more concerned about tire and suspension at that point, though: it was a HARD hit. The hole was pretty deep, with a sharp edge where everything hit.

Amazingly, the tire seems fine, and I didn't spot any damage to suspension. Steered just as straight after as before. But I'd love to know if there is anything else I should be looking at under there after that kind of a hit.

I'd check the rim for any dents. If something in the suspension is off, I think you would know about it pretty quickly by either alignment being off or noise of some sort.

Well, amazingly, Clarkson's alignment wasn't really off by much. He had a little too much toe-in, but TBH it seemed like .35 degrees was within reason. Given how hard that hit was, I'm impressed by the tires as well as the suspension.

On a Corvette .35 degrees off is huge. Not sure how that translates to an LR4 but that would have had worn the tire wrong.
