Tail Door

I have a 1999 Disco II and the tail gate door will not open no matter what i do. I have tried removing the LR emblem on the door and spraying it with WD40, and bending the door handle back slightly. Nothing. Wont open from the inside either. Any idea on how to get this bad boy open so i can use it again.

sounds like something came loose inside... I would say your going to have to take it apart from the inside and have a look.

Yea i tried that couldnt see anything... Not even able to prop the door to open up no way to even taken it off from the inside. Any other ideas. Im clueless and use that door often to haul things i need to get it open but the stealer usually costs an arm and leg. So i hoping someone here knows something. ANYONE?

I am having the same issue and found out if you pull the lock up on the tail gate door at the same time you pull the handel from the inside it may open. Mine did and it seems that the lock may be loose and thefore will not let the door open. I have not taken the panel off yet but at least you may can get the door to open to get stuff in and out.

tried that not avail... Nothing has worked yet took the door apart looking for loose pieces or a way to manually open the door and nothing... Anyone have any ideas i hate to bring it to the dealer. Someone ...Please....
