temp sensors

I've recently been having problems with hot starting. I was advised to replace my fuel Temp sensor. Land Rover South Africa gave me a coolant temp sensor and says it is the exact same item, just named diferently.
Is this true.

According to the Manual, the answer is no.

Fuel temperature sensor
Make and type Lucas 6TT

Coolant temperature sensor
Make and type Lucas 3TT

Thanks. Land Rover did not want to take the part back because of some clause about giving refunds for electrical parts. Now I have some ammo.
