Did a little bit of searching on the Ford V6 in the LR3. Given the German manufacture and its 60 degree layout it is likely the Cologne V6. The thing that confuses me is that the LR propaganda on the US site states that the motor is ALL aluminum. I tend to doubt this as I can find no mention of any versions of this motor with an aluminum block.
Although it likely has a different cam and pistons (higher CR) the motor is likely very close to the Ford SOHC 640. You can see some HP/Torque curves as well as fuel consumption/RPM at this URL:

I find the power coupled with the 6 speed auto perfectly adequate. No complaints.
