Hi,

00 Disco II

I bought this truck 9 months ago and I have a question about tire wear.

The tires on the truck are its second set, replaced by the previous owner

He is unable to tell me if the tires were ever rotated

All the tires are good but, the front tires are worn at least 30% more than the rear tires

I would like to get the most out of these tires so, here is my question :

Is it common for Disco II's to wear out the front tires or rear tires first?

I'm asking because all work on this truck, including the new tires, was done by the dealer and, I know they dont recommend rotating the tires at all and, with it being full time 4 wheel drive, I just dont know

Thank you in advance!

2 thing will effect tire wear on a Rover if dealer maintained.

1 = they don't rotate (this is nuts) Rotate the tires.

2 = They hardly inflate the front tires (recommend tire pressure for the fronts are 28psi IIRC) again this is nuts... put 38 - 40 psi all the way around and rotate tires...

My D1 isn't much difference as far as tire setup goes, I run 40psi and rotate tires.. I get between 40 and 50k per set of tires.

My mud tires do not do as well... but hey what do you expect they are mud tires.

Can anyone who has not rotated their tires tell me if their front or rear tires wore out faster?

I put 93,000 miles on a set of Michelins on my 01/SeriesII and only rotated them once. I got fairly even wear on all of them. Had a lot of Highway and driving in the Mountains and have not babied the vehicle.
