topside oil change question

I have a 2006. I recently got an oil extractor to use on my MINI-works great. I tried to use it today with the LR-It seems like it will only suck out about 2 quarts or so. Does anyone use one of these? Is there some sort of baffling in the pan that wouldn't allow the hose to reach the bottom of the pan?

Can't tell you why, can only tell you that you're not alone. I could only get about 4Q out myself. Hope you find some solace in that,

I feel slightly less incompetent. I am hoping someone has an answer, maybe it's physically impossible based on the design. Cheers

I would imagine that there just isn't a straight shot from the dipstick tube to the bottom of the oil pan. I don't think it's a big mystery or anything.
