Below the front doors, under the truck, is a long black tube about 3" in diameter.
What is it? (did a search, but didn't find it)

I heard a high pitch air leak and found out that it is coming from just above that ********* tube. There are two metal lines running above that which I think go to the rear AC unit. Maybe one of them is leaking. ?

Anyway, that tube is yet another one of the things i can't identify under the truck! :)

Air Tank

Under the drivers door sill resides the suspension air tank. If it is that, it will also have what looks like a big bolt stuck in the front end.

that's it! (i was wrong, its only on the driver's side)

hmmmm...if that's an air tank, i wonder if that's what is leaking. maybe it isn't the AC lines at all.

If it has an air leak so much so that you can hear it, I would get it fixed asap before the compressor wears out.

If you have a leak in the air tank, you'll hear your air compressor turn on often.. and for far longer periods than usual. If the behavior hasn't changed, I doubt you have a leak.

Yes, the air compressor and tank are on the drivers side of the car between the frame and the body. Bummer that you are hearing a leak from there.

Ahem... it is fully protected by the Extreme Protection Rock Sliders :)

I took it into the dealer today.

As luck would have it, since it wasn't audibly leaking today...it couldn't be recreated. I was hoping this would be a known issue and they'd know of some seal or part that was at fault.

Damn...last Friday it was going all day on me. Guess I'll just wait for it to pop up again.
