Hello all,

Driving home today in a mix of rain and snow, my variable speed function of the wipers died, or at least partially. They would come up, but would take 5-10 seconds to come down. They worked fine in the constant speed mode (both low and high). Just wondering if there 1) there is anything that I can do to get it working correctly again, and 2) is this an indication that my wiper motor is about to go?

Its a 95 Disco, with about 80K on it

Thanks in advance

I'd suspect the switch before the motor, because it's working fine at the other speeds.

I had a similar thing happen on the Honda Civic, and it did indeed turn out to the the switch assembly...

same thing happened with my disco, when the wipers were on INT they'd get stuck, my father screwed around with the arm and they fixed themselves. I would examine the arms carefully to see if there is anything wrong.
