Be very careful removing snow and/or ice from the area of the wipers. They do a great job BUT are very sensitive and will self destruct if not treated gently. I know---guess how? At the dealer no less!

The wipers are quite well constructed and quite long and engaged to the glass on the full length. Part of this is accomplished through a long, shaped aluminum spar. When cleaning snow and ice, one can, if not careful, strike the wiper on either end with a scraper etc. thereby bending the spar sufficiently to disrupt the intimate connection to the glass. Mine happened when a dealer employee carelessly cleaned the night's snowfall off the LR3 prior to service. By no means is this a fault. I have had many Land Rovers and Range Rovers over the years. Make no mistake, the LR3 is a superb truck! As has been stated, these Boards are very good for us owners. On the other hand, if one does not understand the dynamic of a poster here, it is possible to think the trucks are trouble. Not true. Look on a Jeep or any other Board. Those with a problem will post and vent (good for their psyche). The normal owner will read only.

Please don't take this the wrong way buy *u** **u!

I describe my issues here in the desperate hope that someone can shed some light. Because my LR service department is ABYSMAL! You'd not think they've even seen the truck before, they lie 200% of the time and have the scheduling skills of my 18 month old. PLEASE trust me I have better things to do with my time and would much rather my truck just work. I've been at this nightmare coming on 13 months now (and 2 trucks).

So again I'm not venting... I'm begging for help!

Pleasent weekend to you,

Here my 1st truck can't do better then 9mpg - http://www.landroverworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1530&highlight=askewed

Here's the gem that made her a lemon - http://www.landroverworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2162&highlight=askewed

And now that you've motivated me I'll post my latest disaster tonight...

Here's an exerb from a letter I had to write to LRNA a few months back...

"I spent fifty-four thousand dollars to buy a Land Rover LR3 HSE and I got a vehicle that had, two bad fuel sensors, a bad seat motor, the down-hill stall, a bad fuel neck, it got 8 to 11 MPG, had a paint defect, over 75 suspension faults, three bad compressors (one of them as I left the hospital to get lunch as my mother was having major heart surgery that resulted in the truck being stuck in access mode), the navigation and radio went dead for no reason, the mirrors and drivers seat didn’t return properly and countless lost days in the shop."

Yea, I'm just a whiner...

No need to beg. If you have that many problems then you can no doubt take advantage of the lemon law. I had a VW Toureg with much the same issues you describe----used the lemon law, in writing, and got back every penny I paid. You rerally do have recourse you know.

askewed, you really have been "screwed"... what are the odds of getting two lemons in a row! I've hit one year recently, and all is fine.

I've had one wiper self destruct and unfortunately, my wife was driving when it did. It actually scratched the windshield. What happened was the rupper blade came off the part that holds it. It tore right off. My dealer said that they can't do anything about it.
