    Rear sound amplifier?

Amp is integral to the subwoofer ass'y located in the rear hatch. PS: I am not a retired service manager of 30 years, and do not drive a 99 D2 with the following mods: Custom made front and rear bumpers, Warn 9500 HSI with 3/8th's rope, sliders, QT diff. guards, electronic CDL, 4:11...

    Location of AC Fan Sensor

Condenser fans Unless my training was useless, a quality VOM used directly on the fan contacts behind the grill will tell the true story. :hmpf:

    Yikes! No brakes!

@rellard, TY for the input. If no obvious leakage, what led you to the RF caliper?

    Yikes! No brakes!

Master cylinder Yes Joey, two bolts. I was hoping for specifics regarding the possible cause(s) if the leak(s), Also, can you tell me if the reservoir just pops off the master cylinder? And I'd just like to add your knowledge of the D1 has always been accurate and very helpful. Thanks.

    Yikes! No brakes!

Yikes Thanks for the prompt response, Joey. I found a leak, it appears to be coming from the joint between the master cylinder and the brake servo. There is fluid on the lower lip of the MC mounting flange and enough fluid on the inner fender well beneath to remove the paint, so I can't rule...

    Yikes! No brakes!

My '97 D1 is my toy. I enjoy working on it as much as driving it. I have a GMC Sierra Z-71 4x4 as my DD. I took the Disco for it's weekly ride the other day just to run it. Coming out of the driveway, the brake pedal went to the floor, tho I could pump the system up. Checking it out, I could...

    Disco Vs. LR3

Now don't ya be raggin' on Disco Mike. He's God's gift to Rover kind, a legend in his own mind. Actually he is quite knowledgeable. Unfortunately, he believes his superior knowledge gives him the right to be rude to peeps of lesser knowledge. Hey Mike, that's just my opinion, and you know...

Land Rover LSE 1997 or 1998

@1997LRLSE: As usual, Disco Mike is on top of things and sharp as a water balloon. Land Rover changed over from the DI to the DII model in mid-year in the 1998 production run. As a result, both can be considered a 1998 model.

    Condenser Fans

I find your response to be flippant, Mike. Obviously, you are: A. Weatlhy. B. Someone who has access to discounted or dealer-cost parts. C. All of the above. Personally, I find you to be an angry man, were you forced to retire?

    Wont start

"Do not disconnect the battery. I am not sure why people think that is the cure all for everything but it is not." Didn't say it was a cure-all, but it worked for me. It was recommended by Joey, a name you probably recognize Mike. Are there problems with disconnecting the battery that I am...

Disco colapsed over rear wheel well

Peace Mike, I have to agree that you were out of line. But that is no reason for name-calling, and that means you, TracyU. I think you both need to play kissy-face, or take the discussion off this thread.

    Condenser Fans

Both the condenser fans on my 97 Disco are not operating. Fuses are okay. Where is the easiest connector to check fan continuity located? Can't find it in the Rave docs. :stupid:

    Disco 1 radio replacement

To the best of my knowledge, all '94 to '98 Disco I models used Alpine audio units, as did Lexus models during the same period. I think your best option is to visit your local junk yard and find a unit identical to the one you are replacing. Just remember to get the VIN from the junker so you...

    Discovery-what should I know

Just for the record, I bought my '97 disco for $2635 on ebay with 135K on the clock 2 years ago. I agree with Joey (as I usually do) re price.
