Statistically no one dies in an LR3?

This just-released IIHS report should get you some brownie points with the wife, who may have been ******** about your impulse purchase of an overweight and trouble-prone British SUV versus more practical and nimble alternatives:

I was trying to figure out what the report was saying.

If I understand it correctly, statistically no one seems to die in an LR3 accident. All is see is 0 where as with the Escalade and similar, there are double digits, (33 / million registered vehicle years). Yes, there are more Escalades around than Land Rovers, but 0 is like there are no LR3's at all on the road in North America, or none off the road? Maybe they are all in the shop awaiting parts?

While I regard the 3 as like driving around in a vault - probably only a G Wagon is more solid, I find the numbers hard to believe. Apparently the credit is being given to the ESP, the anti skid program rather than the driver. Am I reading the report correctly, I wonder?

I screwed up and ****** the wheel when another driver veered into my lane on the freeway. My D2 would have barely shifted from that same steering wheel movement, but the LR3 pulled pretty hard and it didn't help that I applied a little brake. I offered up a lot of driver error, but the truck was very forgiving. ABS/TC did it's thing and I went on my way as if nothing happened. Many years ago I complained about TC and stability control, but now a days I rather enjoy it.

I was surprised to see the Jeep Wrangler is pretty safe. I guess with a full-cage it makes sense.
