Has anyone ever installed memory seats on a Base upgraded HSE?

The one that I'm considering doesnt have driver seat memory, which is annoying since both wife and I will drive.

Is the car already wired and just missing the buttons, or is there something more to it?

Oh, I would imagine it would be doable but might be pricey. There's a real OEM site for LR and you could probably find out what the modules cost. But I'd assume you'd need the wiring pre-installed, if it isn't, not sure if it's feasible. This is something I wish I had. I would have paid for the Lux version just to have this option. Every time my Son plays with the seats or my wife drives the beast or the guy at the car wash moves the seat... it takes weeks for me to find that spot again. It's terribly annoying. Why on earth LR deleted this as standard is beyond me. They could have at least had the fob bear a memory call so if I'm driving and using my fob the seat would auto adjust accordingly.

I still think it is crazy that at the price level of HSE it does not have even basic memory seats.

On my MY13, the feature that moves the steering wheel out of the way and moves the seat back a bit when you open the door... is a little insane. If you get it confused, sometimes it will recline the seat waaaay back or even worse, when you get back in, it will fricken crush you by moving the seat to far forward. I kinda wish you could disable the exist assist features, because my kid is in the seat behind me and when I get out it just makes it harder to get the kids out when it moves the seat back.

You can disable it. Just flip the knob of the electric steering wheel adjustment from Auto to... whatever the other icon is (can't remember, sorry.) No more movement when you open or close the door.

I pretty much thought the memory seats and the exit feature were superfluous, but they were included with the 2011 HSE-Lux, so WTH...now I'm addicted. My wife and I aren't much different in size, but we sure do have different seat and mirror preferences and I love having one button to get back to MY settings - she says the same.

Only real issue I've had was initially mistakenly saving my settings as #1; my wife quickly and emphatically reminded me that that is HER number...silly me.

I too wish memory had been standard on the HSE. Really frustrating it isn't. I would venture a guess that the wiring harness is there, might take a peek behind the door trim and see.

If you're able to get some of that door trim open, please take a pic of procedure. Curious on how hard it is to open. :)

It would be great if the wiring is there. I know a friend of mine with a 2010 LR4 looked into getting the memory seats later and it was about $3,500 - but that was ordering a component through Land Rover, wiring, and doing it aftermarket at a shop. I think a couple LR dealers wouldn't do it.

That was a while back, maybe you will have better luck.

I am pretty much the only person that drives mine, but sometimes others do so I made sure to get the Lux this time around. I agree this should be a feature on the HSE as well.

Geez, that's crazy expensive.

I cannot wait to have memory seats. I've never not had them, until I got the LR4.

Hey count, the door panel is pretty simple to pull as I did it a bunch of times to remove my speakers a few years back. I remember popping off the silver trim pieces by the door handles, the plastic cover inside the lock lever handle, and unscrewing the screws exposed behind these covers and additional one at the top left edge of the door panel.

After that, you just pulled the door panel off starting at the bottom, loosening the clips until the panel comes off all the way around. There are 2 light wires and the door locking mechanism that you easily detach on the back of the panel to finally disconnect it from the door.

Sorry I don't have pics but if you are ever seriously considering pulling your panel off, send me a PM and I can give you a call to walk you through it.
