Hey David,

Follow up on the HIDs. Last night I took a quick trek through the park where it's nice and dark and yes, the HIDs are very nice. The adapative headlights actually turn way more than I suspected as well. More than my Wife's car and my old BMW.

Also, highbeams are amazing too... it lights up so much area. So I can report back that you should be VERY pleased with your HIDs. Man, is this what the 21st Century feels like? haha

Hey Count, you wouldn't happen to be looking for a virtually unused D3s for your stable? It would give you some amazing night time/low light opportunities...

That's awesome - so glad to hear that. I am very happy to hear that the adaptive lights work well and turn a bit more than they did previously. Now I wish I could get them as an option outside the Vision Assist Package - hehe!

:)

I'm very nervous about the vision assist... I'm really hoping I don't have issues with it. We'll see!

27k miles and no issues with my vision assist. I use it frequently when parking.

Hey Bill... Thanks for that. The D3 is an amazing camera! I have the D700 currently and was going to upgrade to the D3 a while back but I just love my D700 too much. I don't want to let her go, she's been good luck. I do work with a few photographers so I'll ask around if anyone is interested. Are you moving up to another model? What type of work do you shoot?

Great to know! Thank you.

I've noticed my RRS is a bit wider than my LR4, so getting in and out of the garage requires me to be more careful.

I am not moving up, I have a D3x that I use to try and do landscape type stuff, so the D3s just sits around. I am an old film guy that got back into it a couple of years ago and thought I wanted to focus on wildlife, hence the D3s,
but the landscape bug got me, so I got a D3x. I have a mint Nikon 300 f2.8 VRII I would like to sell, as well...
