Hey all,
I picked up an 08 Lr3 SE a month ago after selling my heavily modded 350Z that I had for 10 years. While it sucked giving up that car bc it was like my newborn, I always liked the discovery model land rovers. I sold my father an 05 HSE back in 06 when I was in the car business and always was in love with it. I figured to share some pictures of my progress on this truck since I got it. I have a few things left I want to do to it and than will pick up a Nissan GT-R. I love this truck already and it will be the perfect daily driver for me.

Your LR3 looks really good! How is it treating you so far? Any problems?

I'm thinking of getting one myself. I need a sturdy vehicle that I can rely on when in the city.

I also go off road whenever needed so I think this would be perfect for me.

Thanks. You can check out my other thread to view more updates. The truck is treating me well. The brakes were ****** so I upgraded to slotted/drilled rotors and ceramic pads. The oem lighting was dinky so I took care of that with 3 Hid kits. The suspensions sensors went which is a common problem but a very cheap fix @ 50$ a sensor. Other than that did a motor flush and changed the oil twice so far with full synthetic. It's running like new. It is very comfortable to drive but you might complain about the mpg in the city with the v8 model as it truly sucks. Don't bother thinking the v6 model will get you better fuel bc its only 1mpg better. It's a big truck. You need the v8. The ability to go off road is great if you like doing that. At the end of the day you have the best of both worlds so go for it and GL to you sir.

Remote still not working

Hi all,

New to this site as a member but have looked here from time to time for solutions. Seems like a great bunch.

I have a 2005 LR3 (early edition) that I have loved owning. Haven't had too many problems considering it was the first year of the model. One recurring problem though is wet carpets from clogged skylight drains which prevent the remotes from functioning.

Thought I had it solved after clearing tubes with a 6' piece of thin coax cable last weekend and hours of sponging and drying. Only to find that the Carpets flooded on the way home in a rainstorm. Thought it was still the skylight drains but it happened again on a long dry drive so it turned out to be that the AC condensate tubes were also blocked. Cleared them pretty easily with advice from this site.

Problem is the car is dryer than it has been in weeks and the remote stopped working again. wondering if it's a cluster-**ck and there is more than one problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
