No need to remove the skid plate. If you put it on a hoist you should see it easily, it is close to the exhaust line on that side.

any way someone can snap a picture of it? moving to Alaska sometime within the next 6 months and originally thought I didn't need to add any heaters but the car will be sitting outside( 15 days on/15 days off schedule)

You (Krill ) . If on the Alaska coast not sure you will need a block heater. I don't bother unless car is below -18C (about 0F).
